A Message from Rueben Mayes, Senior Director of Development
Dear College of Business alumni, donors, and friends:
Like the organizations in the business communities we serve, the WSU College of Business is continually moving forward. Advancements in quality and reputation, whether in faculty research, student enrollment, or alumni engagement, help the college to grow in many critical dimensions. Brad Jackson (’85 Business Administration/Accounting), member of the CB National Board of Advisors and CEO of Slalom Consulting, reminded me recently of the importance of significant gifts and the role that they play. Major gifts transform the college and enable us, in turn, to transform student lives.
The college is celebrating several recent transformational gifts, which have shaped this issue of eDividend. Don (CB ’56) and Mary Ann Parachini recently established the Don and Mary Ann Parachini Scholarship in Entrepreneurship with a gift of $1 million to incent Business and Liberal Arts students to gain a better understanding of social entrepreneurship. In conjunction with their scholarship, a corresponding Don and Mary Ann Parachini Endowed Professorship was established to build cross-disciplinary curriculum. The Boeing Company has made a sizable investment creating the WSU Center for Behavioral Business Research.
These are just three examples of how generous individuals and corporations are transforming the college. These partnerships are helping the college to produce the talented, dynamic business graduates our region needs to remain globally competitive. Private gifts and volunteer involvement continue to fuel delivery of innovative ideas to make us better.
As you think about your time, talents and treasures,
please consider joining with us in our mission to
attract the finest students and provide them with
outstanding opportunities. Our commitment is to
steward the time, investment and energy of our
partners to the best of our ability and to respect
the thoughts and ideas that make us one of the best
business colleges in the region. With your
involvement, we will continue to provide bigger and
better opportunities for our students and
faculty.
Best regards,
Rueben Mayes, MBA
