Yvon Chouinard

Patagonia founder and CEO Yvon Chouinard signed copies of his book Let My People Go Surfing: The Education Of A Reluctant Businessman at the fist CBE Exectutive Speaker Series event in Seattle

At the first Executive Speaker Series event in Seattle on October 18, Patagonia founder and CEO Yvon Chouinard recounted his company's evolution, from a small manufacturer of mountain climbing gear to an internationally recognized leader in outdoor clothing and equipment. Chouinard attributed much of Patagonia's success to their commitment to offering the highest quality products while maintaining strict standards of social and environmental responsibility. After the event, Chouinard signed copies of his book Let My People Go Surfing: The Education of a Reluctant Businessman.

A sellout crowd of Cougar alumni and Puget Sound business leaders listened to Scott Carson address Boeing's strategies for improving its market presence

More than 250 guests listened Scott Carson discussed business at the third College of Business and Economics Power Breakfast held Sept. 16 in Seattle. The Executive Vice President of Sales for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Carson discussed management principles that have contributed to Boeing's recent successes, and outlined the areospace giant's plans for the future. The fourth Power Breakfast is scheduled for Thursday, April 13, featuring guest speaker Richard Kovacevich, Chairman and CEO, Wells Fargo & Company.

Carson Center grand opening

CBE Dean Eric Spangenberg, WSU President V. Lane Rawlins, Scott and Linda Carson, and WSU Foundation President Len Jessup celebrated the Carson Center Grand Opening in Pullman on October 14

Students, administrators, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of Scott and Linda Carson gathered for the grand opening of the Carson Center for Professional Development on October 14. The new facility is helping students build on their academic knowledge with personal and professional skills needed in the global marketplace.

Homecoming BBQ

It was "Eyes Right!" as the WSU Marching Band passed the '65 Shelby Cobra parked on Terrell Mall at Todd Hall on Homecoming Saturday, October 15. More than 130 business alumni and friends enjoyed barbequed beef brisket and salad before the Cougars took on UCLA in Martin Stadium. The car, with its "Coubra" license plate, is owned by alumni Scott and Linda Carson.
