Golden and Diamond Graduates Return to Campus

Each year in April, Golden and Diamond Graduates return to the WSU Pullman campus for their 50- and 60-year college reunions, respectively. They gather to share memories and a bit of history.

This year senior communication majors Jessica Fitts and Alex Bennett charmed the 1958 and 1948 graduates with their take on the golden times of WSU during lunch at Beasley Coliseum in a day that included a grand tour of new construction/development on campus and an evening banquet with guest speaker Paul Wulff, the new WSU head football coach.

More than 25 liberal arts graduates joined the celebration. They and their companions enjoyed a luncheon, hosted by the dean's office, at Kimbrough Music Building, where they were entertained by Gerald Berthiaume (professor and director, music) playing piano and treated to a vocal performance by soprano Julie Wieck (associate professor, music).

Reunion attendees are asked each year to recap the highlights of their lives and the high points of their WSU college experience. Diamond Graduate Andi Lewis (formerly Hovde) wrote about the request, "I'm back on campus again—and—I have a paper due—like tomorrow! After 60 years, nothing has changed!"
