Massage? We've got that!

By: Delaney Farmer, massage practitioner.

Massage therapy is just not for the rich and pampered. In today's fast-paced, high stress environment, stopping to take a break is healthy. Massage therapy is an affordable, alternative, healthy service that has many benefits.

Massage therapy has been shown to be effective in:

  • Soothing chronic back pain better than other complementary therapies.

  • Boosting the body's immune system functioning.

  • Decreasing the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome.

  • Reducing anxiety and lowering blood pressure in stroke patients.

  • Easing post-operative pain.

  • Reducing headache frequency.

  • Increasing mental clarity.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Take time for yourself now to prevent future problems.

Looking for a massage practitioner on campus?

The Student Recreation Center has a team of massage practitioners available for you seven days a week. The SRC provides competitive prices that college students and faculty can afford. Massages range from $25 members/$27 non-members for a 30 minute massage to $43 members/$45 non-members for a 50 minute massage. You can even charge these services to your student account. Call or come in to schedule a massage and experience it for yourself.
