Wellbeing Fair

Just in time to help make those New Year's Resolutions a reality, the 5th annual Washington State University Wellbeing Fair will be held on February 21, 2008, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center.

University Recreation recognizes wellbeing as more than physical health alone. There are eight dimensions of wellbeing that include social, environmental, intellectual, emotional, occupational, financial, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. Each of these dimensions plays a unique and important role in balancing an active, healthy lifestyle.

A wide range of organizations and businesses from the Pullman and Moscow communities and several WSU departments will be present in celebration and recognition of each of the dimensions of wellbeing. Some events to look forward to include:

  • Physical: Want to improve or maintain your physical fitness? Find out your body fat percentage with our free body fat testing, or have your cholesterol tested by the Cougar Health Awareness Team.

  • Emotional: Relax and relieve stress with free chair massages.

  • Social: Meet and talk with others who share your interests in wellbeing. Many student groups and sport clubs will be here!

  • Environmental: Need a break from the daily grind? Learn about exciting eco-adventures offered by the ORC and Center for Civic Engagement.

  • Spiritual: Learn about mind/body awareness and related classes at the SRC.

  • Occupational: Learn about how to become happier at your current job by visiting the Stress Management Program booth with Counseling Services.

  • Intellectual: Mark your calendar for the fun, instructional courses offered at the SRC, including bike maintenance and swimming workshops. Also, talk with current students from the College of Pharmacy about health topics such as diabetes awareness, heart disease and osteoporosis.

  • Financial: The whole fair is FREE and will have giveaways, raffles, and much more!

Patrons of the SRC, non-members, and Pullman and Moscow community members are invited to join the celebration. Parking at the SRC will also be free for the duration of the Fair!

Get ready for an active, healthy 2008 with the Washington State University Wellbeing Fair at the SRC on Thursday, February 21. See you there!
