University Recreation staff
value the feedback from
patrons and use it to make
improvements to the facility
to ensure increased patron
satisfaction.
As a way to make sure that
patron voices are heard,
University Recreation
established the UREC Advisory
Board in 2001. The Board
continually works toward
creating a better
recreational experience for
every individual on campus by
evaluating customer's needs.
As a result of the Board's
decisions, the Student
Recreation Center has
extended its hours to open
earlier and has undergone
numerous upgrades to keep the
facility at top notch. After
receiving a positive response
to the extended morning
hours, the SRC will continue
to open at 5:30 a.m. Monday
through Friday throughout the
rest of the school year. In
addition, the SRC pool will
be open every night until
11:00 p.m. The Board will
continue to survey patrons
throughout the spring
semester and decide on
permanently extending hours
at the end of the school
year.
Students can now work up a
sweat while watching their
favorite television show on
one of the 16 new 42' flat
screen TVs installed over
winter break. Those who would
rather listen to music can
enjoy rocking out to over 20
XM Satellite Radio channels
in the main cardio lounge. To
add to the aesthetic appeal
of the building 9,540 square
feet of new carpet was
installed on the first floor.
Other customer service
upgrades that have been
implemented include an
updated fitness passport
schedule featuring new
classes and the NIRSA
passport program that allows
members access to utilize
facilities at other
institutions across the
country.
