Pull out those running shoes
and get ready to compete in
the 11th Annual Campus on the
Run March 29. Community
members, students, faculty,
spouses, and partners are
encouraged to participate and
can choose to run or walk the
3.1 mile road race.
The race is co- sponsored by
University Recreation and the
Center for Civic Engagement
and proceeds from this
year’s race will
benefit The Palouse
Conservation District to help
with their work on providing
programs to assist landowners
and agricultural operators
with the conservation of
natural resources.
Last year’s race was a
success with nearly 400
participants and about $1,000
donated to the Palouse
Discovery Science Center said
Dave Pearson, Assistant
Director of Competitive
Sports and Special Events.
“This year we are
really trying to push the fun
aspect of the run and
hopefully we will have
between 400 and 500 people to
participate along with great
weather.”
The day of the race
participants will check-in
from 8:15 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
at the Student Recreation
Center, during which they
will be able to pick up
t-shirts and other giveaways.
The race will start and
finish in front of the
Student Recreation Center.
Participants are encouraged
to register early to
guarantee a long-sleeve,
Campus on the Run t-shirt.
Early registration ends March
17 and costs $14 for SRC
members and $17 for
non-members. Late
registration will conclude on
March 24 with a cost of $19
for SRC members and $22 for
non-members.
