New UREC Summer Hours

With summer quickly approaching, Pullman residents may find the warm weather as inspiration to get active at the Student Recreation Center. Because of this, it is important to know the change in facility hours that will begin on Friday, May 2.

The Student Recreation Center has designated family hours during the week, at which times those under the age of 18 may enter the facility when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. With hopes to increase family friendliness, the UREC Advisory Board unanimously voted to increase family hours throughout the summer and into the academic year.

"We have seen a need to increase our family hours during the summer from last year to further accommodate families who utilize our facility," commented Tyler Baker, Facilities Coordinator for University Recreation. "We are also in the process of reviewing the expansion of family hours for the academic year starting in the fall."

For those planning on accompanying youth under the age of 18 years of age in the SRC, there are a few things to keep in mind. Dependant passes are on sale upon entry for $1with guidelines that must be followed. Parents or guardians are responsible for the direct supervision of youth under the age of 14 years old. In addition, the weight and cardio areas are only available to youth ages 14 and older.

"Even though we have a few policies that need to be followed there are many exciting things for youth to participate in while enjoying the SRC," Baker said. "Pool activities, shooting hoops or playing in-line hockey are always great activities available for youth. Also, games such as table tennis, billiards and shuffleboard are always very popular with the youth that we see in the building."

With these new changes the UREC Board is proud to announce that family hours are now available everyday throughout the year. It is the goal of both the board and the staff to ensure that the Student Recreation Center remains a family friendly place for all SRC members.  Monday – Friday: 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Pool Summer Hours

Monday & Wednesday: 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Monday – Friday: 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Summer Family Hours

 Monday – Friday: 1:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
